I’ve just hung over 40 pieces of my artwork in a 3-month solo exhibition! My scratchboards are featured, along with many of my watercolors, acrylics, and prints. The Art Gallery walls are full at the Rarity Bay Community Activity Center in Vonore, Tennessee. It is a beautiful venue and I am delighted to be able to present my work there.
“Making Our Marks” is the title of the show, and it is the first in the gallery to feature artwork by a teacher and students. During the past two years I have taught beginner and advanced scratchboard techniques to adults, developing a new community of artists in this relatively unknown art. I have been rewarded and amazed at the accomplishments of these creative artists. In addition to my paintings, I've filled a wall with fine examples of my students’ scratchboards. Visitors will be amazed at their impressive work in this challenging medium.
An Opening Reception will be held on Sunday, January 14th, from 2-4pm, and all are welcome. The exhibit is located at 150 Rarity Bay Parkway, Vonore TN. (Turn into the second building on the right after entering Rarity Bay from Hwy 72). If you can’t make it to the Opening, the show will be on display until April 5th, 2024.
Monroe Life magazine is featuring my work as a scratchboard artist in their current issue. It is on page 27 in the printed version, and on the 28-29 spread in this online version (which you can enlarge to full screen for easier reading and/or download). I appreciate the continuous support from this excellent publication.
