The show includes nearly four dozen framed pieces of my artwork, from small to large, and covering subjects from animals to flowers to rural scenes and more. Watercolors, acrylics, scratchboard art, giclee prints and open edition prints are displayed, most for sale. I can’t imagine I’ll ever have an opportunity to exhibit so much of my work in such a spectacular space again.
I selected the show title “Through Her Eyes” to reflect the way I see things and capture them in my art. It also hints at the importance of eyes in my animal portraits, which I find so crucial in bringing my depiction of a dog, cat or wild animal to life. “Happy Harley,” my watercolor portrait of an alpaca done on white scratchboard, is the painting I chose to feature for this show. The whimsical colors I painted with and his funny grin have attracted lots of attention.
