I'm delighted to announce that my artwork has just been juried into 2 upcoming annual exhibitions! I am amazed to have two of my scratchboards chosen for the highly competitive 11th Annual Exhibition of the International Scratchboard Society, to be held in December 2022 in Florida. Also, for the fifth consecutive year, my art will be included in the 54th Annual Open Show of the Oak Ridge (Tennessee) Art Center, held during October and November 2022. Here are the details of each exhibition with my entries....
International Society of Scratchboard Artists 11th Annual Exhibition 2022
I am overjoyed that my new 16" x 12" scratchboard "Perfectionist" and my mini 5"x3" scratchboard "How Sweet It Is" will both be featured in this very prestigeous show. The competition, from artists all over the world, is extremely tough, with work that amazes me. I am so proud to be among this group of artists - take a look at the member galleries on the ISSA website!
I worked from my reference photo taken at a marina here in Tennessee for Perfectionist, thinking it would be a good entry for this show since the exhibition venue is on the Gulf coast of Florida this year. The host location required all entries to be for sale, and I have no problem with that - the more I sell, the more new art I can create!
Chocolates have appeal anywhere, and I spent loads of time creating the fine detailing on How Sweet It Is, working from a still life arrangement I set up (and devoured when finished!)
These happen to be two of my personal favorite paintings, and I feel my work has been validated by being included among an awesome collection of talent from all over the world.

54th Annual Open Show, Oak Ridge Art Center
The competition is always rigorous in an "open show," which means mixed media, 2- and 3-D. My watercolor, "The Bearded Fiddler," has been juried in. One nice aspect of this annual show is that the juror provides a written critique of every piece of artwork entered, and I'm anxious to receive mine.
