Lonesome

"Lonesome is a dog close to my heart - and close to the heart of my dog Ellie Mae. In fact, they are in love with each other! It took a long time for me to get a good reference photo of Lonesome after my friends Kathy and Jim asked me to do a portrait of him. I just couldn't get him to pose long enough to get reference photos which would allow me to depict his beauty, intense glare, and brindle fur in a unique pose. One day I pulled out my camera when we were all relaxing outdoors... among the shots I got was one with Lonesome's attention caught by someone speaking behind him as he sat next to his Dad's chair. We all liked the results of my painting, even Ellie Mae."
