My big red poppy watercolor painting “Remembrance” has just been juried into the Arts in the Airport exhibition at McGhee Tyson Airport in Knoxville, TN. Juror Caroline Covington selected only 41 pieces from 484 entries, so I am excited and honored to be chosen among so few.
Only artists from 33 counties of East Tennessee could enter, and original works in these categories were allowed: Painting, Graphic Arts, Photography, 3‐D, and Fine Craft Objects.
This biannual exhibit has been presented for the past 13 years by the Arts & Culture Alliance of Greater Knoxville and the Metropolitan Knoxville Airport Authority (McGhee Tyson Airport). Their mission is to allow regional artists to display work in the most visited site in the area.
My painting will be on display from April 20 - October 2021 (end date TBA) at McGhee Tyson Airport, Knoxville, TN. Work is displayed in an area behind the security gate checkpoint at the airport, and it is available for viewing only by visitors flying in or out.
