"Baron was one of those extra special dogs that the owners hold dear to their hearts long after they've departed. His owners gave me a few photos as reference, and I chose the photo shown to the right when they mentioned they liked how it captured they way he would look at them and twist his head. Black fur is always a challenge, and I try to emphasize the way the light hits it to keep it from appearing as a big block of blackness. The eyes always make my pet portraits come to life, and you can see how I've made Baron's eyes a focal point, by emphasizing them. I was taken back by how happy the owners were with my finished artwork, and share their joy here:
'Every time I walk into the room and see the painting I am absolutely floored... it stuns my brain to think my dog is looking at me. It means so much, and I don't know the words to use to describe what you've done... superb... stellar... exceptional. It touches my heart and I thank you so much.' - Bob, owner of Baron
I am very grateful that I can give someone so much happiness through my artwork."
