"This old truck was parked for a long time off the side of a road in my rural Tennessee town, and every time I passed it caught my eye. The old peeling rusty paint and the glass of the windshield etched by the elements were so rich in textures. I loved the wires popping out of the headlights! I took reference photos and filed them away.
Finally I found time to create this painting, and I added the old fencing and wildflowers to the scene, positioning daisies against the empty blackness of the front grill. As a final touch on the windshield I painted a thin glaze of fine silver particles, so the glare changes as you view the art from different angles, as it really did on the old International!"
