"My dog Maggie Mae is always a very willing model for my art reference photos. Her big brown eyes are captivating and her fur has strong texture and a variety of color areas. In my year-long series of paintings with blown bubbles, I had not yet done one on black scratchboard. Maggie laying on the wood porch floor provided me with a perfect complement to the transparency, lightness and bold colors of the floating bubbles."
