All About Scratchboarding

Pansy "How-To" Scratchboards by Judy Lavoie

For the next 3 days I will be demonstrating the art of scratchboarding - one of my favorite art activities - during the annual Art Show at Tellico Village (Tennessee). I'll be sharing my scratchboarding techniques, materials, tips, favorite scratching tools, samples of finished scratchboard art, and works in progress. Many are not familiar with scratchboards and I am often asked about how I get so much detail and drama in my scratchboard paintings. Here's the chance to find out more!

My SCRATCHBOARDING DEMOS will be presented:

Friday (04/29/22) 2:30 - 3:50pm
Saturday (04/30/22) 4:30-6:00pm
Sunday (05/01/22) 1:30-3:30pm

"Art For Everyone" is the theme of this highly regarded show and sale, with 67 artists showcasing 275 artworks in a wide variety of media, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, inks, graphite, colored pencil, photography, wood turning, wood carving, jewelry, ceramics, fiber art, sculpture, weavings,
fused glass, stained glass, collage and mixed media.

The 2022 Art Show takes place April 29-May 1: On Friday 1-6, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 10-4. The public is invited to the Opening Reception on Friday, April 30, from 4:30-6:00, when many exhibiting artists will be on site to meet and greet visitors.

The Art Show is at The Community Church at Tellico Village, located at 130 Chota Ctr, Loudon, TN. Attendance is FREE to the public and all are welcome. In addition to my scratchboarding demos, other artists will be demonstrating various other interesting and unique art techniques and materials all during the show hours.

Visitors will be treated to live music each day of the show. Blazing Flames food truck will be on site on Saturday from 10am-6pm. On Sunday morning coffee and donuts will be available.

A sampling of artwork from the show can be viewed on the Tellico Art Guild website now. Watch a fabulous promotional video by Greg Downs and Tellico Village Network too!

I am exhibiting 5 original paintings in the show, which includes 3 of my black scratchboards, 1 white scratchboard and one watercolor painting. I hope you can join me!
